Winter hackfest?

Since we didn't manage the second summer hackfest, how about an winter one? For me this would have to be next year; the rest of this year (weekends) are basically full up. Venue yet to be determined, format to be about the same as the previous one. We tend to export mostly in RDF format with geo namespaces; is this likely to be useful? (see the RDF format search on one of the existing guides for an example). Help needed fixing the London database

Hi, A couple of weeks back OGL's Postgres installation was upgraded. I made a dump of the database before that happened, but it seems to have been in a slightly inconsistent state - key constraints broken in some places, probably due to me removing enormous swathes of spam in a rather brutal fashion. As a result, I can't currently restore it. I tried commenting out the restraints in question in the dump before the restore (which let it happen), and then locating and deleting the errant nodes, but I obviously wasn't doing something right. Could someone with more knowledge in this department please help me out? I'm happy to give you a copy of the dump to test. Floating point exception

I accidentally posted this to OG London. Whoops. Sorry if you get it twice. Following upgrade to the latest Debian package (0.59-1) my Openguide is failing. Running it directly, I get the not terribly helpful: simon@stout:/etc/openguides/default$ /usr/lib/cgi-bin/openguides/wiki.cgi Floating point exception It looks like a Debian perl thing... Also getting the same error from my blog (blosxom) though not all perl programs. There's a megabyte or so strace here, from running wiki.cgi. Looks like it's loading the modules fine, but then breaks. Anyone with Perl and strace voodoo got any ideas? Making a map for a leaflet

(Not specifically OG question but people here have interests in this direction) I want to make a leaflet for an event and include a map. Most of the ways usually done for this are not strictly legal. I could just use the (non) defence of everyone does it but I would rather not. I have noticed that OpenStreetMap has coverage of the area of Central London I am interested in. The simple way to make my map would be to screen scrape the browser window as a bitmap. Is there any better way, eg extracting an SVG file of a particular area. I also want to add some annotations - eg route you get from tube to the venue. Frustratingly it is dead easy to do this online using Googlemaps. But this doesn't help legally for a printed or emailed leaflet. Any thoughts

URGENT Re: [OpenGuides-Dev] OG performance

stix's load is currently running around 3 and that's mostly postgresql and index.cgi. It seems to occasionally get like this and requires a Pg & Apache restart. OK, I'm sorry to have to do this but if I don't get a response to planning how to fix this load issue I'm going to take London Openguides offline this evening. I'm looking for a plan with a deadline, not a solution by this evening. July hackfest CANCELLED

Hello all - sorry for the late notice, but this weekend's hackfest will not be going ahead. I miscalculated and find that I have to work this weekend, so Dom and I have agreed that we'll postpone to a later date (not sure if this date will be before or after the hackathon at YAPC in Vienna). Very sorry about this. Dom has suggested we could replace it with a "virtual" hackfest, but I won't be able to attend much (if any) of that either, so I shall leave it up to him to announce what, if anything, will be happening. The next hackfest will be this weekend, Saturday 21 + Sunday 22 July, at my house in Bermondsey again, and same times as before; starting at noon, and finishing at 10pm on the Saturday and 5pm on the Sunday. If you don't have the address, email me. Lunch provided both days (email me if you have particular dietary needs), and we'll order takeaway on the Saturday evening. Kake
