That said, when I logged in five hours or so (just before writing that
mail) there was a load spike going on at up to 16(!). However, since
then, everything's been quiet, and we've rarely passed 0.2. This leads
me to think that the database isn't coping well when we have sudden
heavy attacks of spam, and that I should probably re-implement the
load cutoff that Paul suggested some time ago.
