I want to be convert the first part of a UK post code eg SE22 to a Long/Lat of a point within the area. I don't mind too much exactly which point. I have had a look at geocoding and have got myself very confused (fairly easy to do). I think the issue is partly copyright, and partly the fact that geocoding is country specicic.

What I think I want is a table of top level post codes to places. Once I have that I can do the conversion. Any suggestions
