Apparently there's now a universal edit button, embedded in Wiki pages in a manner similar to RSS: http://universaleditbutton.org/Universal_Edit_Button
There's a Firefox extension to enable it, but I imagine it'll end up in the browsers eventually.

Oh, yes, I remember reading about that. It's a nice idea which seems to still be in development. I won't be rushing to implement it for OpenGuides (though I don't mind if someone else does), but I will be keeping an eye on its progress.
