On the London guide we're just adding that in to the body where appropriate. What would be the advantage of having a specific metadata field, given that the data's going to be freeform?

I would suggest being asked at configuration time for the main public transport system, which could then be used to generate an input field to save you having to type "*'''Nearest [[Tube]]:'''" every time (the answer you give in the configuration would go in the link in that example).
