hello - re the new grids / ellipses thing
i'm trying to package up a CGI::Wiki::Plugin::Locator::US to also do geocoding;
what about a CGI::Wiki::Plugin::Locator::Base that does all the 'fiddling with the db' stuff that the UK one does?
Also; i would vote for changing os_x and os_y to be UTM easting and northing (which they are, really) naively assuming that all the utm coords in a given city are within one zone. Then default templates for different countries (yawns, arghs, tumbleweeds) can display grid coordinates in different ways; and people could enter lat/long too, though visual feedback does help with not getting this wrong.
i would show you shiny map examples but i've managed to break SF openguides terribly by overwriting my hacked up index.html by mistake... doh
