An idea that popped into my head earlier today:
16:53 <Kake> OK. Shared del.icio.us account for links and things relevant to openguides development - good idea or bad idea? 16:54 <Kake> I'm thinking a separate account for the same reason I made del.icio.us/kake_food - domain-specific means we can tag with more granularity. 16:54 <Kake> Also because it lets us all add to it. 16:55 <Kake> It makes it easier to have consensus on tags, you don't have to look up the deliciouses of all other openguiders to figure out what tag to use, you just look at the list for the openguides delicious. 16:56 <Kake> This is about 5 minutes' thought, so feedback would be good.
Thoughts?

More on this (edited to only show the most important bits): 22:48 # justin wonders if the subscriptions feature (http://del.icio.us/help/subscriptions) combined with some sort of openguides meta-tag would do the job 22:49 <justin> i.e. you could tag your links with your usual tags and a special one to indicate og-sharing 22:51 <Kake> Hm, maybe, it's the "usual tags" thing I was thinking would be the issue - as in, if we all used our normal tagging style then we'd end up with several tags meaning the same thing - and I don't want to ask people to change their tagging style. 22:54 <Kake> The only issue I can think of it that it's a bit of a pain to have multiple del.icio.us accounts - but is there a toolbar or something to take care of that? 23:01 <bob> http://delicious.mozdev.org/ 23:01 <bob> it does handle muliple accounts for posting
I installed the Firefox toolbar Bob pointed to, and it seems to work.
NB the reason I'm not just JFDIing on this is that I'd like to call the account "openguides" or "openguides.org", and I don't want to appropriate the name! So it'd be great if anyone else who would find this useful could let me know.

After prodding and encouragement on IRC (thanks Ivor!) I JFDIed. http://del.icio.us/openguides
I don't want to put the password here because the list is publically archived. It's the original name of OGL with the last two vowels l33t-ified. Mail me offlist if you can't figure it out :)
Bob has previously pointed out http://delicious.mozdev.org/ as being useful for managing multiple del.icio.us accounts. I'm using it and it works well.
No rules for use of the account unless we end up needing some - have fun!
