I dunno about legal stuff. All I can tell you is that the vegan guide to Oxford has been online for 6 or 7 years and the only restaurant that's contacted me to "complain" said something along the lines of "you're the top Google hit for us; can you come back and see if we've improved please, because you were a bit grumpy about us".
Other communications I've received have been like "thank you for the review, please come and have dinner and a free bottle of wine" and "can we send you a case of ginseng beer please".
