Just so I get this out there before I forget. Tom and I had a brief chat about new OpenGuides installs at the London.pm social meeting on Thursday night. Tom, correct me if I'm misrepresenting you. Tom thinks that it should be incredibly easy to create a new OpenGuides install for a new city. I think there should be a deliberate small hurdle to cross before Earle or I agree to create a new guide hosted at openguides.org. Here's my reasoning.
An empty-ish guide with out of date information looks lame. This makes people think OpenGuides is lame.
I am not sure that a new OpenGuide with fewer than - say - four regular contributors is going to do anything but languish and die.
I'd like to know what other people think about this issue.
