Just read the following on The Reg posted today:
It's probably not going to work; at least, I don't think it will, nor do a few others. There's some discussion going here: http://www.usemod.com/cgi-bin/mb.pl?NoFollow
It's not really applicable to you fine gentlepersons. Sixapart are acting to move their software out of the range of spammers, having tried to be nice and cooperative with certain other parts of the industry they've basically been responded to thusly: it's not about if you can outrun a tiger in the jungle, it's about weither you can outrun your partner.
So, Sixapart will commit PageRank suicide, they've heard all the arguments about how weblogs clutter up Google anyway so now they'll be removed. Sixapart are acting to make the average Joe's life easier, in short they've decided to help their customers run faster than you (the non-average Joe).
So while you sit discussing the in's and out's of this idea or that idea, others act, and action is almost always better than inaction.
Sorry if this sounds a bit bitter, it is, and it's not aimed at OpenGuides specifically, just an attitude I pick up on in lot's of places. I'll get my coat.
