Hello. Apparently the OpenGuides project is five
years old this month. We
should have a meetup! Is anyone willing to cat-herd for this? If not, then
I will do it, but I'm really quite busy at the moment so it would be lovely
if someone else could. All you need to do is find a date some time in the
next few months that as many people as possible can make (and it would be
best if it's one that me, Dom, Ivor, and Earle can all manage), choose
between Oxford and London, and then ask Dom (Oxford) or me (London) to pick
the venue.
If you've been wondering what you can do for the project, this is something!

I think 5 years is a good milestone to celebrate. I've got some general
questions, which are not just for Kake, but for anyone to answer or
present their opinions and sentiments.
Which month do we want to hold the event in? (sooner = fewer people, my
preference is for June or July)
Is this going to be purely a social event, or will there be an agenda
and/or some hacking involved?
Can we use the online meeting booker thingy that's been used last time
to help decide on the date?
Also, what size of event do you have in mind, and how far to cast the
feline nets?
I'm thinking of places / groups where we could publicise it:
* London.pm
* openstreetmap
* Multimap and ex-Multimap people we know
* UKUUG/GLLUG/Lonix
* Freedomlabs
* Indymedia
anywhere else geeks we know hang out.
Ivor.
