hello, i'm not sure if anyone else has written back to you from the Open Guide, but...

We are mentioned on your site, but the person who has put us on there is unsure of who we are and what we do:
Each page is publically editable so if you like you can correct and expand the entry yourselves; there is an 'Edit this page' link on the right.
i don't know if this might interest you, we have been plugging the Guide into a 'captive portal' service for open wireless networks. This means, if someone chooses to share or re-broadcast their wireless network connection, when people in local cafes etc connect to it, they see a 'splash page' showing local information from the Guide and other sources before they connect to the internet.
http://map.wirelesslondon.info/node/48832 shows an early prototype of this service, a nicer-looking version of this page would be the splash page on the wireless network.
The practical upshot of this is a way to do a friendly kind of 'advertising' of your business and others nearby, that people can add reviews to, that would be seen by anyone nearby taking out a wireless laptop (of which there is a fair bit around brick lane, i guess)
We definitely need to find more people - local cafes and shops - to host a 'node' on the open wireless network, which we'd help look after. I wonder if you'd be interested in this or if you might be prepared to talk to local fellow businesses about it...
This is a bit of a shot in the dark, excuse me if i'm getting carried away ;)
