indeed. that was the plan. althogh admiitedly its not outside the realms of possibility that spammers can set up spam LJs.
Using OpenID is great.
Using it because it you think it's anti-spam is totally misunderstanding what it is, sorry.
Enabling it, but then whitelisting it is even worse, it's a horrible hack that doesn't even work (as Bob noted).
In conclusion, integrate OpenID please, but don't prevent anyone from using their OpenID, because that is completely against the whole idea of a distributed ID system. Also, please try to understand that any way this is done, it will not prevent spam.
