What would be really nice is to be able to hook into individual attractions.
Currently, the applet can navigate to attractions only via a search entered by the user.
What we want to be able to do is to pass in something like "Natural History Museum"
as a parameter, and the applet loads the appropriate view.
Another function we would like to be able to do is to pass in X and Y coordinates,
either OS Grid or Lat/Long, and for the applet to show us the map with the arrow
in the right place.
That said, we have been looking at SVG, which has a number of facilities:
* Continuous zoom
* Ability to superimpose graphics by layering
* Clickable hyperlinks on the map

The Winner of the SPBW London Pub of the Year 2005 is :
Dog & Bell 116, Prince St, London, SE8 3JD Tel: 020 8692 5664 -close to Deptford Rail Station
The Dog & Bell which won this award in 2002 came out on top again closely heading off the Oakdale -Harringay and the Sekforde Arms (Clerkenwell). This is an excellent free house always featuring Fullers beers and several interesting and well kept guest beers. Food is good and the range of bottled continental beers (especially) Belgium is excellent. Add in a friendly warm welcome, separate bars including quiet areas, a warm fire and a fish tank and you can see why this fine establishment won.
All SPBW Members are welcome to attend the presentation which will be on Monday January 24th at 7.30 PM.
Recent years events at the Royal Oak (2004) & The Wenlock (2003), have been very successful social evenings.
All of the 11 pubs nominated are warmly recommended and here is the full list:

I think that Earle wrote quite a good explanation in:
http://london.openguides.org/index.cgi?Using_Locales
Hi
Can someone explain what a locale is meant to do in Openguides - what
sort of area is it meant to cover.
Specifically I have seen a couple of entries with Locale = "Southwark"
that I don't consider to be within Southwark. I assume that it is not
meant to cover the London Borough of that name.

After an upgrade, I get these errors with the SQLite modules:
[Mon Dec 6 12:58:25 2004] index.cgi: install_driver(SQLite) failed: Can't locate DBD/SQLite.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /etc/perl /usr/local/lib/perl/5.8.4 /usr/local/share/perl/5.8.4 /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/lib/perl/5.8 /usr/share/perl/5.8 /usr/local/lib/site_perl .) at (eval 9) line 3.

It seems the upgrade has moved the module to:
/usr/share/perl5/DBD/SQLite2.pm
I tried symlinking it to:
/usr/share/perl5/DBD/SQLite.pm
But the other errors remained.
Ideas?

It's nice to see the search back in action :).
However, find by distance is not working (but it is on the Kake mirror).
This suggests to me that something might not be configured properly on the site.
