I would suggest being asked at configuration time for the main public transport system, which could then be used to generate an input field to save you having to type "*'''Nearest [[Tube]]:'''" every time (the answer you give in the configuration would go in the link in that example).
Unfortunately not all cities are so well blessed as London. Orlando for example has a marginally effective inter-city transport (we drive alot) so the local's don't use it for navigation. What we do have is a rather silly and adhoc system of major roads. Wanna get to the Nissan Dealership? Head down 436 ... it's just past University. (Note that 436 isn't always the name of that road ... it's also known as Semoran, and I believe Altamont Springs Blvd depending on which section you're driving on).
Something closer to Nearest Landmark is really what you're looking for. But I can't think of an accurate name for it.
