Hello. Apparently the OpenGuides project is five
years old this month. We
should have a meetup! Is anyone willing to cat-herd for this? If not, then
I will do it, but I'm really quite busy at the moment so it would be lovely
if someone else could.
Since nobody has volunteered then I guess it's down to me. That's OK
- I'm less busy now than I was at the start of the month.
Can everyone interested in attending an OpenGuides meet in the UK some
time in the next four months or so reply to me offlist and let me know:
- whether you prefer Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays, in general
- which areas of the UK you would probably be able to attend a meet in
- whether there are any specific dates you definitely can't make
- anything else I need to take into consideration in choosing a date/venue
The meet will be purely social. If it's on a Friday then it will be
in the evening; if it's on a Saturday or Sunday then it will probably
start in the afternoon and continue through to the evening. It will
almost certainly be in either Oxford or London, but I'm willing to
consider other places.
Also, if you have made substantial contributions to OpenGuides but are
not interested in attending a meet wherever or whenever it is, please
let me know that so I don't pester you individually. The "pester
individually" list includes Dom, Earle, and Ivor at the moment - let
me know if I should add anyone else to this list.
Apologies to people outside the UK, but it has to be in the UK if I'm
going to organise it, as I don't have a passport at the moment.
