Also, the CPAN module is not being actively maintained. The author might
be happy for somebody to take it over, but I'm not aware of any takers.

Plucene on the other hand is supported, actively maintained and widely used.

We should retain the "search backend" architecture, as there might be a
better mechanism than Plucene available in future.
